It reviews one year of SUDP (also marked by the first session of the SUDP Steering Committee Meeting) highlighting benefits and constraints of a fast growing programme. Articles focus on the support given by UN-OCHA to the reconstruction of the Xaafuun town– also illustrated in this number – and on the strategies indicated for the Somali urban development by the Joint Need Assessment. This edition also brings to attention the UN-HABITAT interventions in Bosasso after the destruction of IDPs settlement caused by the fire, and the local projects selected for implementation in Somaliland and Puntland.
