Summary: This advocacy plan is a joint effort to put forward a set of measures to assist and encourage all stakeholders to collaborate effectively in order to control air pollution and reduce the impact of air pollution on health. In addition to focusing on advocacy on air pollution control, the purpose of this document is to provide expert opinions on planning and implementing pertinent activities for controlling air pollution and reducing the impacts of air pollution on health. Furthermore, by identifying the stakeholders, this plan proposes approaches that facilitate inter-sectoral cooperation.

Narrative:
Situation Before the Initiative Began:
The main concern which has been addressed by this document is the outdoor air pollution which exist s in tehran and 7 other big cities in iran.
Establishment of Priorities:
This advocacy plan provide more than 25 organizations responsible for reducing air pollution with guidelines and technical supports.
Formulation of Objectives And Strategies:
Promoting Intersectorial cooperation is the core idea of this document. Cooperation among representatives of ministry of health, municipality, police, city council and many others made possible the provision of such a multi-dimontional document.
Mobilisation of Resources:
Cooperation among experts and policy makers with the presence of UN agencies namely UNDP helped us to provide a reliable source in order to develop creative solutions for improving air quality and provide major urban areas in the country with healthier conditions.
Process:
This document has been discussed in the national parliament and has been endorsed by the head of the parliament. Subsequently and following major efforts by the academy of medical sciences and our partners especially department of environment and also ministry of health and some others the new clean air law has been recently adopted in the parliament.
